NoOn 17 December 2011 the European Commission published an announcement of initiation of anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of white phosphorus originating from Kazakhstan. The complaint was lodged on 7 November 2011 by the only producer of white phosphorus in the whole EU, Thermphos International BV.
The product under investigation, white phosphorus, is sometimes also called by the name elemental phosphorus or yellow phosphorus.
On 13 February 2013, the Commission decided to terminate the investigation without the imposition of duties, mainly due to the fact that the benefit to the Union industry of the imposition of anti-dumping duties remains questionable.
