Import tariff

On 14 August 2011, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) increased the customs duty on artificial turf from free of duty to the WTO-bound rate of 10% ad valorem. The good carries the subheading 9506.99.20. Member states of the EU, EFTA, and SADC are exempted from the tariff increase.

The increase was requested by Belgotex Floorcoverings (Pty) Ltd to the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) of South Africa.

Affected trading partners
