Anti-dumping

On 18 November 2011, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) issued the Notice No. 83 (2011), announcing the initiation of anti-dumping investigation on ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (listed under 29094300 in the import tariffs of the Chinese Customs) from the EU and the US. The complaint was lodged on 8 October 2011 by Dena (Nanjing) Chemicals Company.
 
On July 27, 2012, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China issued the Notice No. 42 (2011), announcing the preliminary determination to impose anti-dumping duty on imported Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Etherand and Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether (listed under 29094300 in the import tariffs of the Chinese Customs) originating from the EU and the US. The duty on import from the European Union is between 9.3% and 18.8% depending on the company. The duty on import from the United States is between 10.1% and 15.1% depending on the company. The duty is in force from 28 July 2012.
 
On 28 January 2013, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on the subject good from the European Union and the United States. The duty on import from the European Union is between 9.3% and 18.8% depending on the company. The duty on import from the United States is 10.6% or 14.1% depending on the company. The duty is in force from 28 January 2013 for a period of five years.

On 28 January 2018, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the United States and the European Union (MOFCOM Announcement No. 3 of 2018). It follows the application lodged on 27 November 2017 by Jiangsu Dynamic Chemical Co., Ltd. The existing anti-dumping duty remains in force during the review period.

On 5 April 2018, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China issued the English version of Announcement No. 32 of 2018 amending the definitive antidumping duties following the conclusion of a mid-term review. The mid-term review was initiated in April 2017. The rate of duty on imports from the European Union is between 37.5% and 75.5% depending on the company. The rate of duty imposed on imports from the United States is between 10.8% and 43.5% depending on the company. The amended duty comes into force on 12 April 2018.
