On June 24, 2011, the Government of Argentina increased the reference prices applicable to the exportation of certain types of Yerba Mate originating in a series of countries (see "Related Measures" for previous prices). The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 0903.00.10, 0903.00.90. The export reference prices range from USD 0.85to 1.49per kg for each type of Yerba Mateand country of destination (see 'Affected Trading Partners').
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature for exportgoods in 2005 (in Spanish: valores referenciales de carácterpreventivo). The stated purpose is to safeguard the revenue derived fromthe payment of export duties (see WTO Trade Policy Review). The reference values are based on free on board (FOB) prices in USD. Alist with all current reference values can be consulted under: www.afip.gob.ar/Aduana/valoracion/Valores%20Referenciales%20vigentes.pdf
The measure was effective on 6 July 2011 and was replaced by General Resolution 3518 on 8 August 2013 (see 'Related Measures').
