Export tax

On 19 July 2011, the government of India declared that 12'500 tons of Basmati rice may be exported duty free. However, eligibilty for this export quota is limited and includes the requirement of a minimum export price of USD 400.
 
Outside this quota an export duty of Rs. 48000/ton is levied.
