On 8 November 2009, the Peruvian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of certain polyester/rayon fabrics originating from India (Resolution No. 179-2009/CFD-INDECOPI). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 5515.11.00.00. The request was lodged on 17 June 2009 by Compañía Universal Textil S.A.
On 15 October 2010, the Peruvian authorities imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the above good from India (Resolution No. 179-2010/CFD-INDECOPI). The rate of this duty is between USD 1.14 and 2.57 per kilogram depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of 4 months.
On 2 April 2011, the Peruvian authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of woven fibers of polyester or viscose rayon from India (Resolution No. 038-2011/CFD-INDECOPI). The rate of duty is between USD 1.12 and 2.76 per kilogram depending on the company.
On 1 April 2016, the Peruvian authorities initiated a sunset review of the above anti-dumping duty (Resolution No. 042-2016 / CDB-INDECOPI). This follows the request lodged on 2 September 2015 by Compañía Universal Textil S.A. The existing anti-dumping duty remains in force during the review.
On 30 September 2017, the Peruvian authorities extended the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from India. The rate of duty remains between USD 1.12 and 2.76 per kilogram depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of five years from 2 April 2016.
