On 6 December 2010, Chinese Taipei initiated an anti-dumping investigation concerning the imports of Portland cement (types I and II) and its clinker originating from China. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code subheadings: 2523.10 and 2523.29.
On 30 May 2011, Chinese Taipei imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on the subject product from China the rate of duty is 95.26% or 95.29%.
On 19 October 2011, Chinese Taipei imposed a definitive duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is 91.58%. The duty entered into force on the same day as the provisional duty was imposed, i.e. on 30 May 2011.
On 18 May 2016, Chinese Taipei initiated a sunset review of the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of Portland cement (types I and II) and its clinker originating from China.
On 20 February 2017, Chinese Taipei extended the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion of the above sunset review. The rate of duty is 91.58%. The measure is in force for a period of five years.
