On 4 December 2010, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping on imports of vinyl acetate originating in the United States of America (Notice No. 2010/C 327/14). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 2915.32.00. The complaint was lodged on 22 October 2010 by the Union producer Ineos Oxide Ltd.
On 18 August 2011, the European Commission imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned products originating in the United States (Commission Regulation (EU) No. 821/2011). The rate of this duty is between 12.1% and 13.8 of the net free-at-Union-frontier price depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of 6 months.
On 13 January 2012, the European Commission terminated the above investigation without the imposition of definitive duties (Notice No. 2012/24/EU). The provisional duties secured during the period are released to the given parties.
