From 1 January 2011, the Neodymium ( Nd, a rare earth element, used for lasers, violet colors in glass and ceramics, ceramic capacitors) will be levied with a 25 percent export tariff. In 2010, the Nd export tariff was 15 percent. 
 
In accordance with the Notice of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Implementation of Customs Tariff 2011 'Shuiweihui 2010 No.26', which is released on the website of Ministry of Finance on 14 December 2010, Neodymium rare earth element will be levied with higher export duty in the year of 2011 than in 2010.
 
In 2010, the rare earths, Yttrium(Y), Europium (Eu), Dysprosium (Dy), Terbium (Tb), Scandium (Sc), had an export tariff of 25 per cent. In accordance with the Notice, these tariff rates remain on the same level (25 percent) in 2011. In 2010, for other rare earth elements including Neodymium (Nd) export tariff rate was at 15 percent. 
According to the Notice, the tariff rate will remain at 25 per cent and also other elements are levied with a tariff at 15 percent. Dysprosium-Ferrum Alloy (an alloy with rare earth element Dysprosium) and Neodymium-Ferrum Alloy ((an alloy with rare earth element Dysprosium) were under 20 percent export tariff rate in 2010. In accordance with the Notice,these product tariff rates remain at 20 percent in 2011.
