ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On August 16, 2010 the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued an initiation of anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Flat Products of 400 series having width below 600 mm originating in or exported from European Union, Republic of Korea and the United States. The product subject to this investigation is "Cold Rolled Flat Products of Stainless Steel of 400 series having a width of less than 600mm including all Ferritic & Martensitic grades excluding Razor Blade Steel" and it is used for "manufacture of process equipments, railways, pipes & tubes, automotive components, industrial fabrication, industrial cutting tools, surgical knives & other cutting tools, pumps etc." (quoted from the notice of initiation, see Source).
On November 14, 2011 the Authority confirmed that a dumping practice was in place and that such practice was harmful to the domestic industry.
The injury margin was calculated to be 1-30% for Korea, 50-60% for USA and 20-30% for the EU.
The Authority has therefore recommended that an anti-dumping duty should be set forth.
The definitive duty was imposed on 4 October 2012.
On 3 October 2017, the Indian authorities terminated the definitive duty on imports of stainless steel cold rolled flat products of 400 series having width below 600 mm from the European Union, the Republic of Korea and the United States. The duty was terminated as it was set to expire on the given date.
