On April 19th, 2010, the Australian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of clear float glass from China, Indonesia and Thailand.
On December 20th, 2010, the Australian authorities decided to terminate the anti-dumping investigation without duties.
On May 13th, 2011, the Australian authorities decided to resume the above-mentioned anti-dumping investigation terminated on December 20th, 2010.
On October 17th, 2011, the Australian authorities decided upon the imposition of a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of clear float glass originating in China, Indonesia and Thailand. For dumping rates, see source.
On 23 February 2016, the Commissioner of the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated a sunset review on imports of clear float glass from China, Indonesia and Thailand (Anti-dumping Notice No. 2016/19, 12.02.2016). The products subject to investigation are classified under subheadings: 7005.29.00. It follows the application by CSR Viridian Limited.
On 8 September 2016, the Australian authorities extended the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China, Indonesia and Thailand following the conclusion of the sunset review (Notice No. 85/2016). The rate of the duty on imports from China is 16.2% ad valorem. The rate of the duty on imports from Indonesia is between 0.3% and 28.3% ad valorem depending on the company. The rate of the duty on imports from Thailand is 8.8.% or 25.8% ad valorem depending on the company. The extension of duties enters into force after 17 October 2016 for a period of five years.
