On June 30th, 2010 Brazil through its 'Câmara de Comércio Exterior' (CAMEX) made public its decision to continue the application of anti-dumping duties for another 5 years on the imports of barium carbonate from China. The product is classified under the code 2836.60.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).
The specific anti-dumping duty applied is US$ 105.17t. This decision was reached after the termination of an anti-dumping review initiated by Brazil on June 30th, 2009. The present anti-dumping duty was maintained at the same level as the one applied before by the previous review (second review), in force since June 30th, 2004.
Recently, on October 19th, 2010, Brazil made public through the President of CAMEX its decision to suspend the anti-dumping duties in force against the imports of barium carbonate from China.
This measure will be suspended until 20th October 2011.
On October 6th, 2011 Brazil's Foreign Trade commission decided to definitively cancel the anti-dumping duty imposed on the product.
