NoOn June 2nd, 2010, the Brazilian government announced tariff reductions on the ad-valorem import duty from 10% to 2% for fluorides of aluminium, from 12% to 2% for 6-Hexanelactam (epsilon-caprolactam) and from 16% to 2% for aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes. These products are classified under the codes 2826.12.00, 2933.71.00 and 7612.90.19 ofthe Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM), respectively.
The tariff reduction for aluminium casks, drums, cans, boxes is limited to a quota of 815,000,000.
Most recently, on June 17th, 2010, the Brazilian government announced a new quota of 1,900,000,000 units for the product 7612.90.19 (restricted to loads which the Import Declaration is recorded until the December 31st, 2010). This temporary tariff reduction combined with an increase in the quota was implemented for reasons of shortage, under the Resolution No. 69/00 of the Common Market Group of Mercosur.
Update
On 25 October 2018, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council has adopted Resolution 82 revoking 124 resolutions including this one.
