NoOn May 31, 2010 the Government of India initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of Caustic Soda originating from Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Norway.
On August 23, 2011 the government imposed definitive duties of 379 USD/DMT.
On 8 August 2016, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the above-mentioned anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of caustic soda from Chinese Taipei. This follows the application lodged by Alkali Manufacturers' Association of India, DCW Ltd, Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd. and Grasim Industries Ltd. As no petition has been submitted for the extension of duties imposed on imports of caustic soda from Thailand and Norway, the duties expire on 23 August 2016.
On 19 August 2016, in connection with the above sunset review the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification extending the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good originating in or exported from Chinese Taipei for one year i.e. until 22 August 2017 (Notification No. 46/2016-Customs (ADD), 19.08.2016).
On 31 July 2017, the Indian authorities terminated the definitive duty on imports of the subject good from Chinese Taipei.
