On 5 October 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued 3993/QÐ-BCT initiating an anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain H-shaped steel products from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 7216.33.00, 7228.70.10 and 7228.70.90. The application was lodged on 7 July 2016 by POSCO ss VINA.
On 5 April 2017, the Vietnamese authorities imposed a provisional duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between ad valorem 21.18% and 36.33%.
On 5 September 2017, the Vietnamese authorities imposed a definitive duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between ad valorem 20.48% and 29.17%.
On 13 October 2021, the Vietnamese authorities announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China.
