On 21 September 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of O-Acid originating in or exported from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 2941 90.30. This investigation follows the application lodged by Aarti Drugs Ltd.
On 13 July 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance imposed a provisional antidumping duty on the subject goods from China. The amount of the duty is between USD 0.03 and 8.79 per kg. The products subject to duties are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 2941.90.30, 2915.29.90, 2916.39.90, 2918.30.90, 2918.99.00, 2934.99.00, 2941.10.90, 2941.90.90 and 2942.00.90. The provisional duty is in force for a period of six months.
On 12 March 2018, the Indian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of O-Acid from China. The products subject to definitive duties fall under the falling HS code subheadings: 29419030, 29152990, 29163990, 29183090, 29189900, 29349900, 29411090 and 29419090. The rate of duty is between USD 4.16 and 8.55 per kg depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of three years from the date of imposition of provisional antidumping duty, i.e. 13 July 2017.
