Decree No. 966 of 26 September 2016 of the Government of the Russian Federation temporary abolishes the export duties on wheat classified under code 1001 99 000 of the Common Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union.
This state intervention remains in force in the period 23 September 2016-1 July 2018. Previously, the applied general export duty with respect to this particular tariff line was 50 per cent minus 6,500 Russian Roubles per tonne but not less than 10 Russian Roubles per tonne (see the attached GTA report No. 9975 for more details). In June 2018, the waiver was extended until 1 July 2021
This state initiative affects jurisdictions that do not belong to customs union of the former Eurasian Economic Community, which was succeeded by the Eurasian Economic Union. The current members of the latter are: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
