On 13 July 2011, the Mexican Ministry of Economy initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on amoxicillin trihydrate form China and India. The complaint was lodged on 20 August 2010 by Fersinsa GB, S.A. de C.V. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code subheading: 2941.10.12. A similar anti-dumping investigation was initiated on the same day, see related measure.
On 20 October 2011, the government of Mexico terminated the above investigation on imports of amoxicillin trihydrate from China without the imposition of duties.
On 28 November 2012, the Mexican Ministry of Economy imposed a definitive countervailing duty on imports of the above product from India. The amount of duty is 64.9%.
On 25 November 2017, the Mexican Ministry of Economy initiated a sunset review of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of the subject good from India. This review follows the request lodged on 19 October 2017 by Fersinsa GB, S.A. de C.V. The existing countervailing duty remains in force during the review.
On 30 November 2018, the Mexican authorities extended the definitive countervailing duty imposed on imports of amoxicillin trihydrate form India following the conclusion of the sunset review. The duty is in force for a period of five years from 28 November 2017.
