NoU.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced a reclassification ruling in the September 21, 2016 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions that resulted in the imposition of tariffs on children's fishing rod and reel combinations as fishing rods. These items will now be classified under HTSUS 9507.30 rather than as toys under HTSUS 9503.90.80 or 9503.70.00, both of which had been duty-free. Items under 9507.30 are subject to tariffs ranging between 3.9% and 9.2%, depending on value (i.e., the tariff rate falls as unit value rises). No data are available on which countries may be the principal suppliers of this product. The final revocation and modification became effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after November 21, 2016.
