Import tariff

With effect from 1 October 2016, the Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry amended the import policy of marble & travertine blocks, marble and granite slabs as follows - 
 

  1. Marble and Travertine Blocks: Quantitaive restrictions on import and the import licensing system set up around such blocks has been removed. Further the Minimum Import Price (MIP) has been reduced from USD 325 to USD 200 per Metric Ton while the import tariff on such blocks has been increased from 10% to 40%.
  2. Marble Slabs: The MIP on such slabs have been reduced from USD 60 to USD 40 per square metre, while the import duty has been increased from 10% to 20%
  3. Granite Slabs: The MIP has been reduced from USD 80 to USD 50 per square metre while the import duty has been increased from 10% to 20%.
