NoOn 19 August 2016, the Argentinian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain plates and stoneware tiles (HS code subheading 6907.90.00 and 6908.90.00) from India, Malaysia, Viet Nam and Brazil as well as on imports of plates and fine stoneware tiles (HS code subheading 6908.90.00) from China (Resolution 220/2016). This follows the application lodged by Cámara de Fabricantes de Pisos y Revestimientos Cerámicos.
On 2 August 2017, the Argentinian authorities issued Resolution 589-E/2017 deciding to continue the above investigation without the imposition of provisional duties.
On 16 February 2018, the Argentinian authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain porcelain tiles from India, Malaysia, Viet Nam, Brazil and China. The products subject to dumping duties are now classified under 2017 HS code subheading 6907.21.00. The rate of duty on imports from India is ad valorem 75.8% of the FOB value. The rate of duty on imports from Veit Nam is ad valorem 31.15% of the FOB value. The rate of duty on imports from Brazil is ad valorem 10.06% or 48.2% of the FOB value depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from China is ad valorem 27.7% of the FOB value. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is ad valorem 32% of the FOB value. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
