Safeguard

On 7 November 2009, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of uncoated paper and paper board. According to the World Trade Organization's Trade Monitoring Database the products subject to investigation are classified under HS code 4805. On the same day another safeguard investigation was initiated on angles, channels and beams, see related measure.
The GCC member states are the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.
 
On 9 May 2010, the investigation was terminated without the imposition of duties.
