On March 10th, 2010, the Government of Argentina initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of steel blades for handsaws originating from the People's Republic of China. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code subheading: 8202.91.00 and 8202.99.90. This follows the request lodged by an Argentine producer Sin Par S.A.
On November 24th, 2011, the Argentine authorities published Resolution 377/2011, announcing definitive anti-dumping duties on manual straight steel blades from China. The amount of the duty is US$ 0.46 per unit and is in force for 5 years for a period of 5 years starting from September 8th, 2011.
On 7 September 2016, the Argentinian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of above-mentioned products from China (Resolución 429/2016). This follows the request lodged by SIN PAR S.A. The duty will remain in force for the duration of this investigation.
On 6 September 2017, the Argentinian authorities extended the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Swedish companies China following the conclusion of the above sunset review. The rate of duty imposed is USD 0.46 per unit. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
