Trade finance

On 12 April 2016, the German Eximbank KfW announced in a press release that it would cofinance a loan of 3.5 billion EUR for the construction of three Egyptian combined cycle power plants.
According to the press release, the "core component of each of the natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants" shall be eight Siemens gas turbines. The projects shall increase Egypt's electricity production by 50% when they open in 2018.
A state measure in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects the extent of discrimination against foreign commercial interests. On this metric, this trade finance affects the conditions of competition and foreign firms competing in the overseas market in question.
The list of affected trading partners is based on 2014 trade figures.
