Anti-dumping

On June 30, 2016 the Eastman Chemical Company filed a petition seeking the imposition of anti-dumping duties on dioctyl terephthalate from Korea. The first step in this investigation is the U.S. International Trade Commission's preliminary injury determination, with the commission reaching an affirmative determination in its August 12, 2016 vote.
On January 27, 2017, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the anti-dumping duty investigation of imports of dioctyl terephthalate from Korea.

On June 20, 2017, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative final determination.

On July 20, 2017 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of these imports. As a result of the USITC’s affirmative determination, the Department of Commerce will issue an antidumping duty order on imports of this product from Korea.
