NoOn 1 June 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of crude naphthalene originating in or exported from China, the European Union, Russia, Iran and Japan. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 2707.40.00. This investigation follows the application lodged by Himadri Chemicals & Industries Ltd.
The same day the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry also initiated a similar anti-dumping investigation on imports of refined naphthalene originating in or exported from China, the European Union and Chinese Taipei, see related measure.
On 4 August 2020, the Indian authorities terminated the antidumping investigation on imports of the subject good from China, the European Union, Russia, Iran and Japan without the imposition of duties. This follows a petition submitted on 10 June 2020 from the domestic industry seeking to terminate the investigation. The Domestic industry clarified that: "the domestic industry continues to suffer from dumping from other countries in addition to the subject countries and hence would bring subsequent information on record and add other countries that are not included in the present investigation and further seeking permission to withdraw the petition with liberty to resubmit the same." Additionally, another antidumping investigation was also terminated, see related state act.
