ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On 5 May 2016, on the official website of the Ministry of Agroindustry of the Republic of Argentina, it was announced that Tabacal Agroindustria will launch an investment project of 450.000.000 Argentinian Pesos (USD 32.359.500) with the purpose of enhancing the production of bioethanol from sugar cane, sorghum and maize in the region of Salta. This investment project was supported by the Argentine Ministry of Agroindustry, the Argentine Secretariat of Added Value, as well as the team of the Belgrano Plan.
The official announcement of the Ministry of Agroindustry also stated that this investment project is in line with the strategic goals of the government of Argentina related with the decision of the President Marsi earlier this year to increase the blend of gasoline with bioethanol from sugar cane by 20%. Furthermore, the official announcement also stated that this investment will enhance the production of bioethanol from sugar cane from 70 to144 million liters annually.
