According to consistent press* reports from 7--8 July 2010, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has authorised the exemption from the payment of all taxes for a period of five years the Uzbek-German company 'Mercedes-Benz Central Asia'.

The company "Mercedes-Benz Central Asia' was founded by the German company Daimler AG and the Uzbek "Uzavtosanoat" ("Uzavtoprom') for the production of buses under the trade mark 'Mercedes-Benz'. The capacity of the enterprise will allow it to produce as a minimum 600 buses per year with the possibility of a gradual increase of the production capacity.

As affected trading partners are indicated the rest of the exporters of buses to Uzbekistan in 2009.

The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets, and from foreign subsidiaries.
