Anti-dumping

On 14 June 2015, the Costa Rican authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on white crystal sugar from Brazil. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 1701.99. This follows the complaint lodged by La Liga Agrícola Industrial de la Caña de Azúcar.

On 28 March 2017, the Costa Rican authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from Brazil. The rate of duty is 3.67%. The duty is in force until 21 February 2022.
