NoOn 27 February 2016, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of polyester filament yarn originating in or exported from China and Malaysia (Notice ADC No. 46/2016/NTC/PFY). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 5402.33.00, 5402.47.00 and 5402.62.00. This investigation follows the application lodged on 1 January 2016 from Gatron Industries Limited and Rupali Polyester Limited.
On 15 February 2017, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission concluded its preliminary determination of the above investigation. The investigation will continue without the imposition of provisional duties.
On 26 August 2017, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China and Malaysia. The rate of duty on imports from China is between 3.25% and 11.35% of C&F depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is 6.36% of C&F. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
On 26 January 2022, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission amended the definitive antidumping duty imposed in August 2017. The rate of duty on imports from China is between 2.78% and 6.82% of C&F depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is 3.16% of C&F. The duty will be in force for a period of five years from the original investigation date, until 24 August 2022.
