NoOn 28 March 2016, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution No. 24 revised the list of auto parts not produced in Brazil by including a number of new products to the list and reducing the import tariff to 2%. Subsequently, five products were removed from the list and are therefore no longer subject to a reduced tariff. These goods fall under tariff lines: 7608.20.90; 8412.21.10; 8481.80.92; 8505.19.90; and 9032.89.21.
The list was additionally revised by Resolution No. 23 published on the same day, see related measure. Both resolutions combined include 61 new products on the list reducing the tariff from 18%,16% and 14% to 2%. The goods in question were included in Camex resolution no. 116/2014 which regulates the import tariff of automotive parts and is based on the 38th Additional Protocol of the Economic Complementation Agreement (ACE) between Brazil and Argentina.
Affected trading partners are identified based on UN Comtrade's import data from 2014.
Update
On 17 December 2018, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council has adopted Resolution 102 revoking this Resolution as of 1 January 2019 (please, see related state acts).
