NoOn 15 March 2011, the Argentinian authorities decided to extend the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tape measures excluding certain specific types as well as ones used for tailoring and nonmetallic types used for anatomical measurements, originating in China (Resolution 88/2011). The products subject to duties fall under tariff headings: 9017.80.10. The rate of the definitive duty imposed is a minimum export FOB of USD 0.54 per linear meter. This definitive anti-dumping duty is applicable for a period of five years.
On 15 March 2016, the Argentinian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of above-mentioned products (Resolución 58/2016). This follows the request lodged by MEDICIONES EVEL SA. The duty will remain in force for the duration of this investigation.
On 15 November 2016, the Argentinian authorities extended the existing definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion of the above sunset review (Resolution 686 - E/2016). The duty remains at USD0.57 per linear meter. The measure is in force for a period of five years.
On 9 November 2021, the Argentine authorities announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the application lodged by MEDICIONES EVEL SA.
On 6 July 2022, the Argentine authorities issued a regulation extending the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion of the sunset review.
