On 14 January 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of hydrogen peroxide originating in or exported from Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan and Thailand. The products subject to investigation are classified in part under the following HS code subheading: 2847.00.00. This investigation follows the application lodged by National Peroxide Limited and Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd.
On 14 June 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance imposed a definitive antidumping duty on the subject good from Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Republic of Korea, Pakistan and Thailand. The rate of duty on imports from Bangladesh is between USD 27.81 and 91.47 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from Pakistan is between USD 51.91 and 117.94 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from Thailand is USD 16.91 or 63.32 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is USD 46.16 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from Chinese Taipei is USD 56.33 per tonne. The duty is in force for a period of five years. No definitive duty was imposed on imports from Indonesia.
