Anti-dumping

On 30 December 2015, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of low ash metallurgical coke originating in or exported from Australia and China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 2704.00.30. The Directorate General noted that subject goods were also imported under subheadings 2704.00.90, 2704.00.10, 2704.00.20. This investigation follows the application lodged by the Indian Metallurgical Coke Manufacturers Association, on behalf of the domestic producers, namely Saurashtra Fuels Pvt. Ltd., Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd., Carbon Edge Industries Ltd., Bhatia Coke and Energy Ltd. and Basudha Udyog Pvt. Ltd.
 
On 25 November 2016, the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on the subject good from Australia and China. The rate of duty on imports from China is USD 25.20 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from Australia is USD 16.29 per tonne. The measure is in force for a period of five year from the date of publication of the Customs Notification.
