On 23 December 2015, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of clear float glass originating in or exported from Iran. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 7005.10.90. This investigation follows the application lodged by Gold Plus Glass Industry Ltd., HNG Float Glass Ltd. and Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd., on behalf of the domestic industry.
On 12 May 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance imposed a definitive antidumping duty on the subject good from Iran. The rate of duty USD 52.32 or 55.59 per tonne depending on the company. The products subject to duties are classified under the following HS codes: 7003, 7004, 7005, 7009, 7013, 7015, 7016, 7018, 7019 or 7020. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
On 29 June 2021, the Indian authorities announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Iran. This follows the application lodged by Asahi India Glass Ltd., Gold Plus Glass Industry Limited, Sisecam Flat Glass India Private Limited, and Saint-Gobain India (Pvt.) Limited.
