Anti-dumping

On 15 December 2015, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of aluminium foil originating in or exported from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code 7607. This investigation follows the application lodged by Hindalco Industries Ltd., Raviraj Foils Ltd. and Jindal India Ltd.

On 16 May 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance imposed a definitive antidumping duty on the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between USD 0.69 and 1.63 per kilogram depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
