Anti-dumping

On 7 December 2015, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of Linear Alkyl Benzene from Iran, Qatar and China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 3817.00.11. This investigation follows the application lodged by Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd. and Nirma Ltd. on behalf of the domestic industry.
 
On 11 April 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on the subject good from Iran, Qatar and China. The rate of duty on imports from China is USD 23.78 or 147.11 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Qatar is USD 46.49 or 300.22 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Iran is USD 71.8 per tonne. The definitive duty is in force for a period of five years from the date of publication i.e. from 11 April 2017.
