On March 16, 2016 the government of Ontario announced a $15 million subsidy to Sandvine, a producer of networking equipment, to support the development of cloud-based technologies. Provided through the Jobs and Prosperity Fund, the total eligible cost of the project is $169 million over seven years. Sandvine generates 85% of its revenue from exports, and sells exclusively to communications service providers that deliver a consumer high-speed Internet experience, such as through cable, fibre and mobile networks.
