On January 13, 2016 Tensar Corporation filed a petition requesting the imposition of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on biaxial integral geogrid products imported from China. The first step in the investigation is the U.S. International Trade Commission's preliminary injury investigation. The commission reached an affirmative determination in that phase of the investigation on February 26, 2016.
On June 20, 2016, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the countervailing duty investigation. On August 17, 2016, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the anti-dumping duty investigation. On January 5, 2017, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative final determinations in the anti-dumping duty and countervailing duty investigations.
On February 7, 2017 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of certain biaxial integral geogrid products from China. As a result of the USITC's affirmative determinations, Commerce will issue anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of these products from China.
