On December 16, 2015 Whirlpool Corporation filed a petition requesting the imposition of anti-dumping duties on large residential washers imported from China. The U.S. International Trade Commission reached an affirmative determination in its preliminary injury investigation on January 29, 2016.
On July 20, 2016, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative preliminary determination.
On December 9, 2016, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative final
determination in the anti-dumping duty investigation.
On January 10, 2017 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of large residential washers from China. As a result of the USITC's affirmative determinations, Commerce will issue an anti-dumping duty order on imports of these products from China.
