Anti-dumping

On May 13, 2009, the Mexican authorities decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of certain carbon steel pipes with a straight longitudinal seam from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland following the preliminary conclusion of the antidumping investigation initiated on 19 July 2008. The rate of duty is 8.42%. This provisional anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on May 27, 2009. The products subject to duties are classified under the following HS code: 7305.1101. The investigation was initially initiated following an application lodged on November 16, 2007 by Tubacero, S.A. de C.V. 

On December 23, 2009, the Mexican authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned carbon steel pipes originating in the UK. The rate of the duty is 5.91%. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on January 6, 2010. 

On November 21, 2014, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a sunset review of the above-mentioned anti-dumping duty. This follows the application lodged on November 6, 2014 by Tubacero, S. de R.L. de C.V. The review started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on December 5, 2014.

On 18 December 2015, the Mexican authorities extended the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the United Kingdom. The rate of duty is 5.91%. The duty is in force for a period of five years from 6 January 2016. 

On 10 December 2019, the Mexican authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the United Kingdom. This follows the request lodged on 12 November 2019 by Tubacero, S. de R.L. de C.V. The existing antidumping duty remains in force for the duration of the review. The review commenced on 11 December 2019.
