NoOn October 28, 2015 a U.S. firm (TB Wood's Incorporated) filed petitions seeking the imposition of countervailing and anti-dumping duties on iron mechanical transfer drive components imported from Canada and China. The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) reached an affirmative preliminary injury determination on December 11, 2015. On April 11, 2016 the Department of Commerce reached its preliminary subsidy determination with respect to China. On June 1, 2016, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative preliminary determinations in the anti-dumping duty investigations of imports from Canada and China.
On October 24, 2016, the Department of Commerce announced its affirmative final determinations in the anti-dumping duty investigations of imports of certain iron mechanical transfer drive components from Canada and China, and the countervailing duty investigation of imports of certain iron mechanical transfer drive components from China.
The case ended when on November 18, 2016 the USITC determined that an industry in the United States is neither materially injured nor threatened with material injury by reason of these imports. As a result of the USITC's negative determinations, no anti-dumping or countervailing duty orders will be issued.
