NoOn April 28th, 2015, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of hydrogen peroxide from Bangladesh (Notice ADC No. 34/2015/NTC/HP, Initiation). The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2847.0000. This investigation follows the application lodged on April 6th, 2015 by M/s Sitara Peroxide Limited, Faisalabad, and M/s Descon Oxychem Limited, Lahore, domestic producers of the subject good.
On October 16th, 2015, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission issued its preliminary findings and decided upon the imposition of a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of hydrogen peroxide originating in Bangladesh (Notice ADC No. 34/2015/NTC/HP, Preliminary Determination). The rate of the duty is 19.32% of the CIF value. This provisional measure entered into force on October 16th, 2015 and is applicable for a period of four months.
On 14 March 2016, the Pakistani authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the above product from Bangladesh. The rate of the duty is 10.67% or 12.14% depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years starting from the imposition date of provisional duties, i.e. until 15 October 2020.
On 15 October 2020, the Pakistani authorities announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Bangladesh.
On 14 October 2021, the Pakistani authorities issued a notice extending the definitive duty imposed on imports of hydrogen peroxide from Bangladesh following the conclusion of the sunset review. The rate of duty on imports from China ranges from 15.38% to 16.10% depending on the company.
