Brazilian Development Bank BNDES announced that it is going to provide a credit of 1.3 billion real (USD 343 million) for the construction of three wind parks at the Complexos Eólicos Chapada do Piauí. The sites are going to house 247 wind turbines and are owned by a public-private-partnership.
The measure is considered discriminatory since, in general, the Brazilian Development Bank provides credits with below-market interest rates only to legal persons (private or public) based in Brazil.
