Export tax

On 28 January 2015 the Egyptian official gazette published a decree stating a new regulation for exporters. According to Article 1 of Decree No. 60 of the year 2015, each ton of exported quartz is subject to a duty of 750 EGP and each exported ton of talc or feldspar subject to one of 250 EGP.
This ruling was valid for six months and has been renewed with Decree No. 540 of the year 2015 from 29.07.2015 until 29.07.2016.

The export duty replaces a ban on the stated materials (see related measure).
