On 25 September 2015, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) increased the customs duty on wheat and wheaten flour. The following rates apply to all countries except for the Southern African Development Community (SADC):

  • wheat (1001.91, 1001.99):from 51.06c/kg (USD 0.0367) to 91.12c/kg (USD 0.0655)
  • wheaten flour (1101.00.10, 1101.00.90): from 76.59c/kg (USD 0.0551) to 136.68c/kg (USD 0.0983)

 
The duty is calculated as the difference between the World Reference Price (WRP) and the Domestic Dollar-based Reference Price (DDRP).
 
The previous change in duty rate on wheat was on 21 August 2015 and can be consulted under measure no. 10084. 
On 11 April 2016, SARS increased the customs duty on wheat and wheaten flour, see related measure.
