On 24 September 2015, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade announced in a press release the government would accelerate the revitalisation of the traditional markets, given "their important role in the national economy".
In order to support their development, the Ministry will contribute 1.2 trillion IDR (ca. 82.1 million USD) from the 2015 budget to reconstructing a 1'000 traditional markets until 2019.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets, and from foreign subsidiaries.
