Tax or social insurance relief

Denton County, Texas and a local city (The Colony) extended incentives worth $802 million to Nebraska Furniture Mart in 2011 for a furniture megastore and its surrounding development. The project received both tax increment financing from the county and assistance via the city's creation of a tax-increment reinvestment zone.

A general concern about these submissions is that they may distortinter-state rather than inter-national commerce. Sure, they makeproduction less costly and thus potentially lower domestic marketprices.
As no official source could be obtained, this measure is coded "amber".
