The scheme aims to provide subsidies for the production of biodiesel and bioethanol in order to boost the level of environmental protection and lower market prices in Croatia.
The incentive program exclusively applies to: (1) biodiesel from rapeseed, (2) bioethanol from corn, (3) bioethanol from sugar beet, (4) biodiesel from waste cooking oil, (4) biodiesel from lignocellulosic raw materials, (5) bioethanol from lignocellulosic raw materials, (6) biogas and (7) biomethanol.
The official Croatian documents explaining the program denote that the cash incentives are based on the difference between the domestic Croatian production costs and the market price of the specific renewable form of energy in international markets. The higher the difference, the higher the government alsupport.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives thatare likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facinginternational competition, whether from imports, in export markets, andfrom foreign subsidiaries.
