ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
Internal taxation of imports
On July 15, 2014 the House of Representatives approved the Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act (H.R.3086), a bill that amends the Internet Tax Freedom Act to make permanent the ban on state and local taxation of Internet access and on multiple or discriminatory taxes on electronic commerce. Under current law the existing ban on such taxes is due to expire on November 1, 2014. The bill died because the Senate did not act upon it before the 113th Congress adjourned later that year.
